Costa Mesa highlight

Strong arts

Costa Mesa's motto is City of the Arts, supported by the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and South Coast Repertory, a resident theater with year-round productions and education programs.

Costa Mesa's identity centers on the arts in a way few cities of its size can claim. South Coast Repertory produces dramatic performances throughout the year at three venues within the Segerstrom Center for the Arts and offers a Theater Conservatory with year-round classes for ages eight and up, including adult acting and playwriting courses alongside youth programs. The repertory theater hosts a Pacific Playwrights Festival and maintains an active touring schedule.

The city supports a vibrant cultural ecosystem beyond theater: the Orange County Fair draws thousands annually, visual arts programming happens throughout the community, and the architectural character of public spaces reflects an ongoing commitment to creative expression. For many Costa Mesa households, regular attendance at performances or enrollment in arts classes—whether it is a child's first drama class or an adult's evening acting workshop—is part of how the family spends its time and resources.

When the arts are woven into household life, so are the decisions that protect it. A parent attending their child's school play or a working adult in an evening class is a person whose income supports others. Term life insurance that bridges the gap until that income is no longer essential gives families the breathing room to grieve and to adjust without losing the home or the stability they have built.
